A Musical Journey to the Heart of Nature: Concert in The Auditorium

The essence of the sea: inspiration for artists

The oceans and seas of the world, with their dynamic waves and deep blue, have been a source of inspiration for numerous artistic creators. At the end of the nineteenth century, this natural element became a reflection of freedom and rebellion, capturing the attention of composers such as Claude Debussy. His work, ‘La Mer’, is presented as a sound testimony to this fascination, where the wind and the waves take center stage, leaving humans as mere shadows in front of the vastness of nature.

A unique concert in the Auditorium

On March 28 and 29, the Sala Pau Casals of the Auditorium will host a special concert of the Barcelona and National Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia (OBC). Directed by Ludovic Morlot, the orchestra will have the collaboration of singer Sílvia Pérez Cruz, who will present ‘Magic Domain’, a new composition by guitarist and composer Feliu Gasull. This work, which will premiere worldwide during the event, promises to explore a new sound dimension.

The charms of Granados

Prior to the new creation, the OBC will perform three of the twelve Spanish dances of Enric Granados, adapted for orchestra by Joan Lamote de Grignon. These dances, which gained international recognition, were published from 1892 and have been a reflection of Granados’s talent since its early years. Historians specify that, despite their youth, scores could have been refined in later stages of his career.

Mediterranean poetry: Garreta and the Medes Islands

To end the evening, the music of Juli Garreta will take us to the Medes Islands, a symphonic work that captures the essence of the Mediterranean landscape. Released at the Palau de la Música, this piece evokes the wonders of the sea, the sky and the earth, and reflects Garreta’s passion for nature. His music, full of contrasts and textures, invites the listener to live a unique sensory experience that transcends the words.

More details about the event
