A new candidacy offers a solution to the crisis of the Friends of Sant Ferran de Figueres Castle

A new opportunity for the Friends of Sant Ferran Castle

The members of the association Amics del Castell de Sant Ferran de Figueres can now breathe easier, since the crisis situation that arose as a result of the lack of candidates to lead the organization has found a solution. A new team has presented its candidacy to lead the association for the next four years, offering a new opportunity to relaunch the organization and promote the fortress that the castle represents.

The new candidacy and its objectives

The candidacy is headed by Joan Carné and is integrated by other members such as Javi Martín, Lola Ventós, Pere Maluquer and Erik Roura. This new proposal aims to reactivate the association after the breakup of the previous board and the management difficulties that led to the resignation of the previous president, Fede Luque. The extraordinary general assembly held this week will be decisive in validating this new candidacy and marking the future of the Friends of Sant Ferran Castle.

Background and risk of dissolution

The crisis was unleashed when last January’s general assembly ended without any candidacy to renew the management team, putting the entity’s continuity in jeopardy. This situation opened a period of two months to find a solution, and now the appearance of this new candidacy offers renewed hope to avoid the dissolution of the association.
