A new cultural alliance between Reus and Tarragona

Innovative collaboration between two artistic centers

The Cal Massó Art Center in Reus and the Center for Contemporary Arts in Tarragona, known as Mèdol, have initiated an exciting joint project to promote artistic creation and contemporary cultural offerings in the region. This association seeks to join efforts and resources to enrich the local artistic scene.

Lore: an immersive experience

The first result of this collaboration is Lore, a unique installation created by artist Leo Pum, which will be available from February 20 to 22 at Cal Massó. Inspired by the universe of fantasy novels and role-playing games, Lore combines visual elements with a sound envelope that transports viewers to a world of imagination and creativity.

An interaction between technology and tradition

This work not only seeks to recreate an environment similar to that of an analog video game, but also invites attendees to reflect on the interaction between technology and artistic traditions. The collaboration between Mèdol and Cal Massó is articulated as a shared adventure that seeks to connect the two cities.

A shared vision for culture

With the aim of promoting creativity at a territorial level, this initiative arises as a need to create links between the two cities. Vicent Fibla highlights the importance of this union: ‘Reus and Tarragona are cities with a cultural richness that cannot be ignored. Both have a common interest in art and culture.’

A varied program for the public

The opening of Lore, which will take place on Thursday the 20th at 7pm, will include live performances by Leo Pum, as well as presentations by Polifeme and Matacandil. Visitors will be able to enjoy a transformative artistic space that will open its doors on the 21st and 22nd, with a program that includes a performance by transfeminine singer Bella Báguena and a DJ session with Guillem Sarrià.

A fusion of past and future

Lore is characterized by its innovative ‘Live installation performance’, which fuses ancestral elements with new technologies to create an immersive experience. Artist Leo Pum explains: ‘We want to explore identity and the roles we assume in our digital interactions. This installation will become a dynamic space that will change with each performance.’

A promising future for local culture

The collaboration between Mèdol and Cal Massó not only increases the visibility of both institutions, but also strengthens cultural dialogue in the region. This is just the first stage of a journey that promises to bring more joint projects and activities, thus creating a network of support for contemporary art.
