A new educational era in Castellolí: integration and modernization

Initiative for integrated education

The City Council of Castellolí has obtained a aid of € 150,000 from the Diputació de Barcelona for the creation of a Lar-Escola. This innovative installation seeks to unite the Nursery Quiche with the Les Passeres School, a significant step to guarantee a complete education system in small locations.

Funding and ambitious project

With a total budget of € 300,000, the Provincial Council will cover half the costs, while the rest will be funded by the Puosc, the Unique Plan of Works and Services of Catalonia. This investment will allow the construction of a new building in the school grounds, which will improve the pedagogical continuity and the efficiency of the educational resources available in the municipality.

Calendar of construction and design of the space

The works are scheduled to begin at the end of the summer of 2025, with a scheduled duration of six to eight months. The goal is for the new school to be operational for the 2026-2027 school year. The infrastructure will include two classrooms adapted for the little ones (I1 and I2), as well as a patio and well -equipped spaces, thus fostering a better interaction between the children of the household and those of the upper stages.

Benefits for the educational community

Vicenç Serra, Councilor for Urbanism, emphasized that this project represents a key opportunity to maintain early childhood education in modern facilities. “We will provide more educational options for families, and with this integration, we will guarantee a quality service that will be more sustainable,” he said.

Minimum impact during construction

Serra also assured that the new construction was planned to have as little impact on the existing school, with works that would not interfere in the classrooms or the courtyards.

Transformation of the local educational model

Glòria Saiz, Councilor for Education, has highlighted the importance of this new infrastructure for Castellolí’s educational model. “With this integration, children will start at I1 instead of I3, turning our nursery into an essential part of the education system,” he said.

Unified management for better coordination

Saiz emphasized that the management of the nursery will be the same as that of the school, guaranteeing coordinated and unified management. He also emphasized the involvement of the City Council in the support of educational and academic resources, ensuring that the children of the home will also benefit from these initiatives.

Commitment to sustainable education

With this project, the City Council of Castellolí reaffirms its commitment to an inclusive education and adapted to the needs of its community. The creation of this new short school will not only promote economic viability, but also facilitate a fluid transition between the various educational stages, contributing to a more cohesive and effective education system.
