A weekend full of faith and communion
On February 1 and 2, a group of about a hundred people gathered at the Martí Codolar residence in Barcelona, a historic space that one day housed a zoo and now serves as a refuge for immigrants and for cultural and religious activities. This event, under the inspirational motto ‘Whoever loves me will keep my word’, gathered participants from various cities such as Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tortosa, creating an atmosphere of brotherhood and spirituality.
A warm and meaningful reception
The day began with a warm reception, where each assistant received a commemorative book point that symbolized the gold wedding of the annual assemblies of Catholic charismatic renewal in the spirit. This kindness established the tone of a weekend dedicated to praising God and strengthening bonds with brothers and sisters in faith.
Reflections on the presence of the Holy Spirit
Mn. Josep M. Garcia, a young rector of Tortosa with only two years of experience in charismatic renewal, shared his powerful experience with the Holy Spirit. ‘I felt that the lord was healing a deep wound in my heart,’ he confessed, emphasizing the importance of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the direction that the spirit provides to the Church.
The path of love and truth
In his talk, he recalled the words of Jesus: ‘I am the way, the truth and the life’, instinating the attendees to live the authentic love in all areas of his life, whether at work, the family or the community. “We have to act as sponges that receive the water from the spirit to share it,” he added with passion.
A message of commitment and hope
As the encounter progressed, the need to live faith in a world that is often distant from spiritual values was highlighted. ‘We cannot stay only in our community; We need to go outside and witness what we believe, “he said, emphasizing the importance of coherence between words and actions.
The importance of prayer and communion
At a time of deep reflection, the need for prayer was emphasized as a tool to stay connected to God, remembering that ‘The Lord’s Light must shine in us.’ All was also urged to take an active part in the sacraments, especially in confession, as a means of spiritual renewal.

The day culminated in the presence of the auxiliary bishop of Barcelona, Javier Vilanova, who shared a message of unity and fidelity to God. He recalled that, despite living in an age when faith may seem blurred, ‘prayer and community are essential to hold the Church’. His message resonated with a slowdown to be apostles in the world, with the promise that God will do great things through our delivery.
