A road more than 5,000 kilometers
David Giménez Ramos, a young 31 -year -old adventurer from Salou, has decided to embark on an unprecedented challenge: to walk on more than 5,000 kilometers through the Iberian Peninsula. Its journey will begin and end at the same point, covering an extensive tour that includes both Spain and Portugal.
A life dedicated to exploration
From a young age, David has felt a strong desire to explore the world. His stay in Australia in 2024, where he worked and studied for almost a year, was a catalyst that intensified his adventure yearning. To finance his current trip, he worked at the Formigal ski resort during the winter, saving each euro to make this dream come true.
Planned route: an ambitious challenge
David’s itinerary is both extensive and ambitious. From home in Salou, he goes to Lleida, Huesca and Pamplona, then following a section of the north of the Camino de Santiago. Upon arrival in Galicia, he will travel the Atlantic coast of Portugal, enjoying the paradisiacal beaches of the Algarve before continuing towards rate. From there, his route will take him along the Mediterranean coast, through cities such as Marbella, Murcia and Valencia, to return to his starting point.
Preparations and survival on the road
His only company during this odyssey is a car of more than 35 kg, where he carries with him food, kitchen utensils, a tent and an inflatable mattress. David plans to camp almost every night, although he intends to occasionally stay in shelters to recover and maintain his personal hygiene.
Documenting the adventure
Throughout his tour, David has decided to share his experiences through social networks, publishing daily videos and reflections on the stages, challenges and landscapes he is discovering. His username is ‘@d3ividon’ and is available on Instagram and Tiktok, where he invites everyone to accompany him in this exciting journey.
The first steps: a mixture of emotions
The first days have been an intense experience. Salou’s departure was full of emotions: nerves, expectations and a deep sense of farewell. Surrounded by the love of friends and family, David received applause from strangers who joined his improvised farewell. At that time, he expressed his gratitude and determination before starting his adventure.
Unexpected challenges on the road
The first night was spent in the Guingueta, where he camped with the authorization of a local farmer. Despite the rain, it was a quiet experience. However, the second night at Mussara was a real challenge: thunderstorms, wind and cold led him to think about the difficulties that were waiting for him in his journey.
A personal reflection
Beyond the physical challenges, this trip has become a self -discovery process for David. Loneliness and connection with nature are elements that, according to him, will help him grow as a person. “I have experienced a roller coaster of emotions, but I am determined to move on, regardless of the difficulties that arise.”
Inspiration for others
David not only faces an impressive physical challenge, but also reminds us of the importance of pursuing our dreams and reconnecting with the surrounding environment. Although his trip is just beginning, he is already leaving a significant mark on those who follow him.
