A Bright Start in Les Come
Last weekend, the Les Comes pavilion witnessed a spectacular clash between Igualada Femení Hoquei Club Patins and CH Mataró, with a final score of 8-4. The Igualada players, who had been struggling to find their rhythm, surprised everyone with an exceptional offensive performance, scoring a total of fourteen goals in just two games.
First Goals and Early Dominance
From the first moment, Igualada showed its intention to dominate the match. Abril Besa was the first to make the score vibrate with a precise outside shot assisted by Carla Claramunt, scoring the first goal just two minutes after the start (1-0).
With palpable energy, Besa repeated the feat with a shot from the front of the area, increasing the difference to 2-0. This intensity forced the Mataró coach to call a time-out before five minutes, trying to reorganize his team against a well-positioned opponent.
Mataró’s Resilience and Igualada’s Response
Despite Mataró’s efforts to recover, Igualada remained firm in defense. Goalkeeper Eva Besa shone with key saves, while Igualada alternated between quick and controlled attacks that kept the pressure on the visitors.
El Mataró managed to shorten distances with an unexpected goal (2-1), but immediately, Abril Besa made an appearance again, scoring his third goal of the match, followed by another from Carla Claramunt, which brought the score at 4-1.
A Second Time Full of Surprises
After the break, the dynamic of the game changed dramatically. While Igualada adopted a more defensive stance, Mataró stepped up their efforts, scoring two quick goals that left the score at a tight 5-3.
The home coach, Carles Piernas, had to call a time-out to calm spirits and restore order. After that, a powerful shot by Carla Claramunt gave Igualada some air again, making the score 6-3.
A Final Resurgence and an Apotheotic Closure
With the Igualada players working effectively both in defense and attack, Laura Crespo scored the seventh goal with an impressive personal move (7-3). Later, he converted a direct foul to get the eighth goal (8-3).
Despite the pride of the Mataró who looked to score one more goal, goalkeeper Eva Besa maintained her excellent performance, allowing only one goal in the end, thus closing a memorable game with a result of 8-4.
Reflections on the Future
With this victory, Igualada Femení has not only demonstrated its goal-scoring ability, but also its resilience and determination. The season promises to be exciting, and the players look set to continue to amaze with their talent and effort.
