Meteorological forecast for Spain
In the coming days, Spain is preparing to face an episode of intense rainfall and strong winds that will affect various areas of the territory. Although on Tuesday it is not expected to be as abundant as Monday, instability will continue to be the dominant tone.
Alert areas
The most affected regions will be Valencia and Castellón, with a forecast of rain accumulations that could reach 60 liters per square meter in only twelve hours. In addition, the coastal storm will cause very strong wind gusts, especially on the coasts of Alicante, Murcia and the Balearic Islands.
Situation in Canary Islands
In the Canary Islands, an active front will move from west to east, leaving general rains throughout the day, according to the expert meteorological Roberto Brasero.
Do not lower your guard
In the west of the peninsula, although the skies will begin to clean, the temperatures will experience a slight increase. However, Brasero warns that this improvement will be ephemeral, as the weather conditions will remain unstable during the week.
Snow will also be present
The snow level will remain between 1600 and 2200 meters, which will involve snowfall in the high mountain areas.
The impact of the rains
According to Roberto Brasero, on Wednesdays and Thursdays they will remain marked by instability, with more significant rain accumulations on the Mediterranean coast and in the Alborán area. Tarragona, Castellón, Valencia, Alicante, Murcia and Almeria will be the areas where the rains will be more intensely, extending to Andalusia.
Expectations for Friday and weekend
On Friday, the forecast is still uncertain, but the strongest rains are expected to affect the northeast, the central system and the Gulf of Cádiz. These precipitation will again be locally intense and persistent.
With the arrival of the weekend, a new Atlantic front is expected to affect the peninsula, expanding the areas with rain to the northwest. Thus, it seems that the week will conclude with rains throughout Spain, turning the umbrella into an indispensable accessory.
