Advance of the scrutiny of the Catalan elections of 12M

Preliminary results

The counting of the Catalan 12M elections is progressing with more than 25% of the votes counted. The PSC leads the arc with 43 seats, followed by Junts with 32, ERC with 21, and the Popular Party with 14. Vox would obtain 12 deputies, followed by the Comuns with 6, the CUP with 4 deputies, and Aliança Catalana would enter the Parliament with three representatives.

The PSC leads the Parliament of Catalonia with 29.1% of votes and 43 seats, followed by Junts with 20.8% of votes and 32 deputies, and with ERC in third position with 13.5% of the vote. The Popular Party and Vox would reach 14 and 13 seats respectively, followed by the Comuns with 6 seats and 5.2% of the vote. The CUP would obtain four representatives and the far-right pro-independence party Aliança Catalana would enter the chamber with three deputies.

Incidents and reactions

The extreme right-wing independence movement Aliança Catalana has won in the municipality of Les Lloses, in the province of Girona. The counting continues, and is expected to end around 10:30 p.m. The low turnout on this election night has generated concern among the candidates and has led to requests to extend voting hours in some provinces due to incidents on public transportation.
