A tradition that takes shape
The magic of Alcoi’s Cavalcade of the Magi of the Orient is preparing for a new edition, and local artists have the opportunity to leave their mark. The City Council has launched the competition for the poster announcing the CXL Cavalcada, an initiative that seeks to encourage creativity and participation in this long-awaited festival.
Contest details
Participants can present their works with full creative freedom, as long as the pieces are suitable for offset reproduction. This involves excluding colors such as gold and silver, which could make printing difficult. The dimensions of the poster will be 50 cm wide by 70 cm high, with a sketch that will guarantee a reproduction at a scale of 1.30 x 1.82 meters.
Mandatory elements
The sign must include the coat of arms of Alcoi and the inscriptions ‘CXL CAVALCADA REIS D’ORIENT 2025’, ‘ALCOI’ and ‘D’INTERÉS TURÍSTIC NATIONAL’. In addition, the works must be presented on a rigid support or a wooden board, guaranteeing their durability and visual presentation.
The jury and the assessment criteria
The jury, without financial remuneration, will be made up of professionals from the world of art and education, including members of the Municipal School of Fine Arts and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, as well as a representative of the Local Council of Children and adolescence Each member will evaluate the works based on four criteria: originality, design, technique and composition, with scores from 0 to 5 points.
A contest with a purpose
According to the Councilor for Festes, Jordi Martínez, the aim of anticipating the publication of the rules is to facilitate the work of artists, giving them more time to conceive and realize their creations. Martínez emphasizes the importance of a competition that is inclusive and that stimulates the interest of artists to participate in this emblematic celebration.
