A Festival that Marks a Triumphant Return
On Saturday, October 12, Alcoi dressed up to host the Sound Jordi festival, a musical event that has returned to the city after a decade of absence. According to the data provided by the Department of Culture, nearly 3,500 attendees gathered at the Cotes Baixes venue to enjoy the performances.
Artists and Fun: An Unforgettable Night
The festival line-up included performances by prominent groups such as Faixa, Triángulo de Amor Bizarro, Antònia Font, La Fúmiga and DJ Trapella, who ignited the atmosphere with their melodies. Councilwoman Elisa Guillem emphasized that a third of the attendees came from other towns, which not only increased attendance, but also contributed to the city’s economic activity.
Economic Impact and Tourism
Hotel occupancy figures were exceptional over the festival weekend, and restaurants also saw a notable increase in business. Guillem noted that the event was not only a musical success, but also boosted tourism and the local economy.
Logistics and Security: A Well Organized Event
The free bus service operated smoothly, with hundreds of people using it to access the festival. In addition, safety was a priority, and it was ensured that there were no notable incidents during the event. Around 200 professionals worked to ensure everything ran smoothly, from the technical team to the security staff.
A Satisfying End and Looking to the Future
Guillem expressed his satisfaction with the success of the return of Sound Jordi, thanking the collaboration of all the City Council departments involved in the organization. The cleaning of the premises was carried out quickly, reflecting a commitment to the maintenance of the space. The mayoress concluded with a promise: ‘Next year, Sound Jordi will return stronger than ever.’
