Alcoy Culture Councilor Elisa Guillem has shared an optimistic view of future cultural events that will take place this year. From the recent Culture Awards Gala to activities focused on emblematic figures such as Isabel-Clara Simó, the city is preparing for a year full of initiatives that emphasize local creativity.
A gala that makes the difference
On February 14, the Ciutat de Alcoy Culture Awards Gala was held, an event that managed to attract a large number of people and has been well received. Guillem emphasized the importance of an elegant and dynamic format that included various artistic disciplines, thus reflecting the cultural diversity of Alcoy.
A collective tribute
Within future projects, Alcoy’s participation in the BarnaSants festival, which will include a commemorative show for the 30th anniversary of the death of Ovidi Montllor. Instead of a conventional concert, a collective tribute is provided that will bring together various artists to celebrate the impact of Ovidi on local culture.
Celebrating Isabel-Clara Simon
On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the death of Isabel-Clara Simó, Alcoy will dedicate this year to remember his work. Guillem has commented that various activities are being prepared, including an exhibition on his life and legacy, as well as pedagogical proposals for schools. This initiative seeks to involve the community in a celebration of its influence on literature and art.

Reactivation of the Sound Jordi Festival
Another of the great bets of the council is the reactivation of the Sound Jordi festival. Guillem has confirmed that preparations for the second edition are underway, with the aim of selling tickets in the near future.
