Reopening of the Carmen Thyssen Andorra Museum
From February 21, the Carmen Thyssen Andorra Museum (MCTA) will reopen its doors with a new captivating exhibition entitled “Links. Cuixart talks with the Carmen Thyssen collection. ” This exhibition, directed by Pilar Giró, represents a unique collaboration between the Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza collection and the Cuixart Foundation, coinciding with the centenary of the birth of the artist Modest Cuixart.
A visual dialogue between artists
The exhibition presents a total of 44 works that allow visitors to enter into an artistic dialogue between Cuixart, one of the most important names in 20th-century Catalan painting, and several pieces from the collection. Artists such as Casas, Carbó and Torres García join this visual conversation that focuses on two main themes: the faces and figures, and the unusual nature.
A musical and interactive experience
The exhibition not only stands out for his works of art, but also enriches a sound dimension. The ONCA Foundation has collaborated to create an original soundtrack, with compositions by Bernat Torra, David Sanz, Jordi Claret and the Fonorama group, which includes Lluís Casahuga, Kic Baroque and Toni Gibert. This music accompanies the works, offering a multisensory experience to the visitors.
Additional resources for an enriching visit
The museum has prepared complementary material for total immersion in the sample. Attendees will enjoy an audio guide available in several languages, which will provide detailed information on the works. In addition, interactive screens will offer images and curiosities that will enrich the artistic understanding of visitors.
