An intimate drama between love and ambition comes to Santa Brígida with Maresía

Discovering the secrets of life through goodbye

In each farewell, the identity of those who were present in the life of the deceased can be unraveled. Each gesture of consolation, shared anecdote and display of affection forms a map of experiences that reveals the essence of one who rests in peace. In the silence of goodbye, the unique and singular story of those who once walked beside him is revealed.

A dream and a goodbye: An intimate drama with overtones of diversity

On Friday, May 3, at 8:00 p.m., the Santa Brígida Cultural Center, under the supervision of the Department of Culture, will witness the presentation of ‘A dream and a goodbye’, a theatrical proposal by the Artes company Scenic. This emotional show addresses sexual diversity through a couple made up of two women, immersing the audience in an intimate drama that explores family dilemmas, difficulties in relationships, personal aspirations and the fight for professional recognition, especially from the female perspective. Furthermore, it delves into the emotional and work crises that threaten the apparent stability of those who seem to have absolute control of their lives.

A look at the internal and external conflicts of the characters

Joseph, the main protagonist, has lived since birth with little sign of affection from the adults around him. His father, Daniel, a shrewd music entrepreneur, and his mother, Margaret, an aspiring singer struggling to record her first album, are just one example of this complex family dynamic. Miriam, completely devoted to his work, and Heloise, without a fixed direction in his life, also find in Joseph a kind of justification for his own disoriented existence. Through this story, the viewer is immersed in the intricate conflicts that the characters face with themselves and with others.

A call to reflect on loneliness and life decisions

‘A dream and a goodbye’ invites us to reflect on emotional loneliness, the tensions between personal desires and those of others, the longing to be parents and the painful experience of abandonment. Each character is presented with their own dreams, sometimes confusing, on a journey full of ups and downs. In addition, the work addresses sexual diversity through a couple made up of two women, adding an additional layer of complexity to the plot.

An experience suitable for everyone, but recommended for those over 12 years old

Although this work is suitable for all audiences, attendance is recommended for those over 12 years of age, due to its emotionally charged themes and content.
