A Different Summer with the Cousins
This summer, my cousins Arlette and Jan, who come from France, came to visit me, and I wanted to make their stay memorable. Beyond the typical outings in Barcelona and afternoons at the beach, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to surprise them with a unique experience.
The Decision to Visit an Aquatic Paradise
It was an August morning, the heat was overwhelming and the desire to do nothing was reduced to a simple desire to cool off. With my cousins, who were tired of the local pool, I remembered a friend’s recommendation about PortAventura World’s Caribe Aquatic Park. This idea excited me, and in the blink of an eye, we packed our backpacks and set off on our journey.
Arrival at the Caribe Aquatic Park
Only an hour later, we arrived at the gates of the water park, where my cousins’ excitement was palpable. The first thing that surprised us was the immense extent of the site: more than 50,000 m² full of attractions, swimming pools and green spaces. ‘Why didn’t we come earlier?’, they asked me excitedly, as they contemplated the 2 km of slides that awaited us.
The Most Exciting Attractions
If I were to detail each of the attractions, it would never end. The fun was constant, and we decided to make a selection of the three that fascinated us the most.
1. King Khajuna: An Unforgettable Free Fall
The first and most spectacular was the King Khajuna, an impressive free fall of more than 30 meters. Its monumental structure can be seen from afar, and for us, it was the queen of the park.
2. Mambo Limbo: Speed and Fun
Then we braved the Mambo Limbo, where we climbed a 12 meter tower and chose our slide. The feeling of sliding at high speed and ending up in the pool with a splash was indescribable. My cousins didn’t want to stop!
3. Rapid Race: Aquatic Competition
Finally, the Rapid Race offered us some friendly competition. Sliding down various slides on a carpet was a fun challenge, and the rivalry between us added excitement to the experience.
Relaxation at the Reggae Café
After a morning full of adrenaline, we decided to have lunch at the Reggae Café. This place offers a relaxing atmosphere and a delicious selection of dishes from pasta to fish & chips. It was the perfect end to such an exciting day.
An Unforgettable Memory
The visit to the Caribe Aquatic Park was a total success, and both Arlette and Jan enjoyed every moment. Not only was this experience a great way to refresh ourselves, but it also strengthened family bonds and created memories that will last forever.
