A concert to remember: Cultural Spring in Castellvell

The singer -songwriter Àngel Maresca, known as ‘Lo Barber de l’Alguer’, will offer one of his few concerts in Catalonia, accompanied by the Alghero also Claudio Gabriel Sanna. Both figures are prominent representatives of root music and oral tradition, and their concert promises to be a true party for music and culture lovers.
Angel Maresca: a barber with a soul of musician
Born in Alghero in 1944, Maresca has dedicated his life to keeping Catalan culture alive in Sardinia. In her barber shop, she combines liver hairdressing hairdressing, a space where traditional music resonates among customers. With a guitar in his hand, he sings popular and improvised songs, thus preserving a tradition that, around 1900, was an essential part of the life of Algerian barbers.
A tribute to tradition: ‘Return’
To commemorate his 80th anniversary, Àngel Maresca has collaborated with Claudio Gabriel Sanna in the creation of an album entitled ‘Reunion’. This work not only collects the most emblematic songs of Maresca, but also a tribute to a historical moment of 1960, which marked the reunion between Barcelona and Alghero. The record, directed musically by Sanna, symbolizes the continuity of Catalan culture and the importance of shared traditions.
The Concert in Castellvell: a time to enjoy
The concert will take place in the church of Sant Vicenç Martir, at 8 pm, and tickets can be purchased for 10 euros. It will be a unique opportunity to enjoy the music of Àngel Maresca and Claudio Gabriel Sanna, just after his performance at the Tradicionàrius de Barcelona. Attendees will be able to purchase the tickets through the EAGORA application or through the website, thus facilitating access to this cultural event.
A celebration of living culture
Beyond music, this concert represents an act of vindication of Catalan cultural richness in Alghero. His performance in Castellvell is not only a concert, but also a reunion with the history and traditions that unite us.
