Arnaldo Otegi’s message of responsibility
Given the increase in EH Bildu’s chances of surpassing the PNV in votes and seats, Arnaldo Otegi, general coordinator of the Abertzale coalition, has made a direct appeal to the voters of the confederal left, specifically to Sumar and Elkarrekin Podemos Alianza Verde, to act responsibly.
At a meeting with the candidate for Lehendakari, Pello Otxandiano, and the spokesperson for the General Assembly of Gipuzkoa, Maddalen Iriarte, Otegi recalled his support for the new Spanish confederal left in 2016, urging it to join the independence movement and promote constituent processes in the nations of the State.
Otegi has emphasized the importance of concentrating the vote in EH Bildu to achieve change in favor of the left, highlighting that what is essential is the change in the relationship of forces in favor of the left, rather than the partisan acronyms.
Otegi’s double calling
Otegi’s call seeks to attract a possible ‘useful vote’ for the independence party, as well as to gather possible support after the Basque elections of April 21, 2024, in which according to a survey, EH Bildu is in a position to win in seats and votes, putting at risk the absolute majority of the PNV and PSE-EE coalition government.
The confederal left, represented by Sumar and Elkarrekin Podemos Alianza Verde, would have a determining role in tipping the balance.
The future project according to Otegi and Otxandiano
Pello Otxandiano highlights the importance of adding support
The candidate for lehendakari, Pello Otxandiano, emphasizes the need to build a future project among different people, identifying meeting points despite the differences.
Otxandiano contrasts two political models, highlighting the importance of complying with the popular mandate and the construction of a project among different ones, which puts the interests of the country above those of partisans.
Otxandiano’s vision of the current moment
Otxandiano urges not to transmit fear to society at a time of sufficient uncertainty, emphasizing that EH Bildu represents hope and change, collaborating and putting the country’s perspective at the center.
