Badalona celebrates Sant Jordi with a vibrant and diversified program

A Sant Jordi Ple of Traditions and Innovations

The celebration of Sant Jordi on April 23 in Badalona approaches a wide repertoire of activities that integrate the classic elements of this festival, such as books, dragons, roses, music and poetry. The Fira de Sant Jordi, usually located in the Plaza de la Vila, will be extended through various parts of the city, including the Paseo de la Salut and emblematic spaces such as Plaça de Sant Elies and Plaça de Antonio Machado.

Book Fair: A Space of Culture and Knowledge

The XLV edition of the Book Fair will kick off the day, with dates set from April 21 to 23 in the square of Pompeu Fabra. With opening hours from 9am to 9pm, the public will be able to enjoy the stalls of various local bookstores, such as Abacus, Crapze and Fènix, which will offer a varied selection of titles for all tastes.

Dynamic and interactive activities

The XIII Sant Jordi Fair, which will take place in the Plaza de la Vila and in the street of Francesc Layret, promises a festive atmosphere with commercial stalls and live performances. A music parade will encourage the event with songs and rhythms, while a DJ will entertain the afternoon with a vibrant music session.

New this year

One of the attractions of this year will be the activity ‘A Sant Jordi de Record’, where the characters of Saint George and the Princess will interact with the attendees. In addition, visitors will be able to immortalize the moment in an official photocall, creating unforgettable memories.

A Sant Jordi Digital

The fair will be transformed into a radio and television set, with live transmissions by Badalona Comunicación. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the ‘Badalona Morning’ program will be held, followed by ‘BDN360’ and ‘Opinacat’ in the afternoon, bringing St. George’s magic to everyone’s screens.

Activities for all ages

The Badalona Municipal Library Network will also be actively involved in the celebration. In the morning, attendees will enjoy a reading corner, book points and interactive activities for schools. From 17.30, stories will be presented on dragons and knights, as well as creative workshops.

Special events in Sant Roc

In the Sant Roc Library, children of children will be able to participate in various activities, including the story of the story ‘Quin disaster of Sant Jordi’ by Moi Aznar, as well as workshops on book points. The Blas Infante Theater will also offer students’ shows and prizes.

Celebrations to cultural spaces

The Espai Betúlia, dedicated to the lyrics, will join the festival with a musical and poetic concert by Lídia Pujol and Pau Figueres. In addition, a literary route will be organized to remember the figure of Pompeu Fabra, with walks in the relevant places of his life in Badalona.
