Barcelona celebrates culture with the Cultural Regatta during the America’s Cup

A vibrant cultural proposal at Moll de la Fusta

From next week, Barcelona is preparing for an explosion of cultural activities that will complement the Copa América de Vela. The Cultural Regatta, which will be held between August 31 and October 13, will offer a total of 24 free events, designed to immerse citizens and visitors in local art and music.

A diverse program for all tastes

Most of the activities will take place in the Race Village space, located at the Moll de la Fusta, and will include musical performances and demonstrations of popular culture from Thursday to Sunday, with schedules from 19.00 to 20.30 hours. Gisela Sais, the programmer in charge, has prepared a series of concerts with artists such as The Bird Yellow, Belascoaín Sextet, and many more, which promise a unique musical experience.

A stage for local talents

In addition to the concerts, the Race Village stage will host selected performances by talents linked to the Ciutat Vella district, with six proposals that include Koyam Project and Paula Peso, among others. This initiative seeks to give visibility to local artists and enrich the cultural experience of the regatta.

The Olympic Port: a new cultural meeting point

At the same time, the Olympic Port will be transformed into a space for artistic expression with a program that will coincide with the women’s and youth regattas. This innovative approach aims to merge sport with culture, offering a completely new experience for attendees.

Festa de La Mercè: an event to match

The celebration of La Mercè, which will take place from September 21 to 24, will also be integrated into this cultural offer. The Mercè Arts de Carrer (MAC) will bring a proposal that will tell stories linked to the sea, with a varied program that will extend along the Mestral wharf and the Bogatell breakwater. Details of this lineup will be made public in early September, promising an immersive experience for all attendees.

Reflections on the union between culture and sport

With the Cultural Regatta, Barcelona not only celebrates the sporting competition but also reaffirms its commitment to culture and art. The city is positioned as an epicenter of activities that enrich social life, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy the arts in a festive and dynamic context.
