A key event for the world of audio
On November 15th and 16th, the CaixaForum in Barcelona will become the meeting point for audiovisual professionals with the celebration of the International Radio Congress. Organized by the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the UAB and Cadena SER, this event promises to bring together more than 100 experts from around ten different countries.
Current issues and future challenges
With the motto ‘Present and Future of Audio’, the congress will include 21 panels that address various areas of interest. Topics such as artificial intelligence, local radio, the evolution of narratives and the impact of advertising will be analyzed, offering a comprehensive view of the current state and prospects of the radio industry.
A focus on technological innovation
Jaume Serra, delegate of Prisa Media in Catalonia, emphasizes that ‘the Congress program includes the most innovative trends and the keys to the future of radio’. The new technologies that citizens adopt every day will be a central theme, with a special emphasis on how these can transform the way we consume audio content.
A space for reflection and debate
The Congress will not only be a forum to present the latest innovations, but will also provide a platform for debate. According to Enric Marín, dean of the UAB, attendees will be able to discuss how radio is imagined in the next decade, stressing that ‘it will probably be very different from what we currently know’.
Institutional collaboration for the success of the event
The congress has the support of several institutions, including the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Diputació de Barcelona and the Barcelona City Council, as well as several associations and professional groups that work in the audiovisual sector. This collaboration highlights the importance of the event and its impact on the future of radio.
Celebrating a hundred year legacy
In addition, the Congress coincides with the commemorative events of the centenary of EAJ-1 Ràdio Barcelona, considered the forerunner of Cadena SER, marking a historic moment for radio in Spain.
A promising future for audiovisual
With an enriching program and a wide range of attending professionals, the International Radio Congress in Barcelona presents itself as a unique opportunity to explore and debate the new frontiers of audio and its influence on today’s society.
