Berga will host the World Mental Health Day event

Next October 12, Berga will host the World Mental Health Day event. This day, which is celebrated on October 10, will take place in Berga on Saturday October 12 under the slogan ‘It’s time to prioritize mental health at work’.

Organized by the World Mental Health Federation of Catalonia

The World Federation of Mental Health of Catalonia heads the organization of this traveling day, which this year stops at Berguedà on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Horitzó Foundation. A high level of participation from the entire Catalan territory is expected, with the aim of raising awareness and claiming the rights of the group and improving the quality of life of people with mental health disorders.

World Mental Health Day motto

This year’s theme, ‘It’s time to prioritize mental health at work’, was chosen through a global vote involving more than 2,000 people from 116 countries. This slogan reflects the urgent need to defend mental health in the workplace and promote good practices to ensure the well-being of workers.

Planned activities

During World Mental Health Day, several activities will be held in Berga. In the morning, there will be a visit to the permanent exhibition of Patum at the Convent of Sant Francesc, followed by a street of Patum andromines with the Entrompats Band to the Plaza de la Font del Ros. In the square, there will be stops, a theatrical performance related to the theme of the day and the reading of a manifesto. Afterwards, a lunch will be held in the old pavilion and the event will close with a final dance by the Berguedana de Folklore Total.

Involvement of the County Council and the City Council

Both the Berguedà Regional Council and the Berga City Council have joined together to collaborate in the celebration of World Mental Health Day in Berga. The County Council will provide support with billboard, merchandising and promotion services for the event. Mental health is one of the Council’s priorities, and work is being done to implement policies that put people at the center of government action.
