A Space for Creativity and Collaboration
In La Bisbal d’Empordà, a new cultural project emerges with the desire to transform the way in which art and creativity are understood. Brava Arts, a space located in an old ceramics factory, was born from the vision of Nacha Delpiano and Jaume Grau, two professionals with a long career in the performing arts. With the aim of becoming a reference in innovative music and audiovisual formats, Brava Arts seeks to position itself in southern Europe before 2030.
The Challenges of an Ambitious Start
The path to the realization of the project has not been without difficulties. Initially planned for 2020, Brava Arts had to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, and later, a devastating hailstorm that affected the infrastructure. Thanks to the support of Ramon Romaguera, owner of the building, the team managed to repair the damage and continue with its mission.
An Alternative Financing Model
One of the most striking aspects of Brava Arts is its capacity for self-sufficiency. Contrary to popular belief that the arts are dependent on external aid, Delpiano points out that the project does not receive structural subsidies. They have diversified their sources of income, including storage services for artworks, which offer comprehensive support to the arts sector.
Phases of a Visionary Project
Brava Arts is currently in its second phase, with the inauguration of a building dedicated to musical residencies scheduled for 2025. This facility will allow artists to compose, rehearse and record in the same space. The next phase will include the creation of a gastronomic project and the programming of outdoor events, with the intention of involving the local community.
Creating Global Connections
Inspired by internationally renowned creative centers, Brava Arts seeks to create an environment that fosters the exchange of ideas and collaborations. The beauty of the Costa Brava, combined with its rich culture, makes it an attraction for artists from all over the world. The team works to establish connections that allow the region to shine as a dynamic cultural center.
A Promising Future
The Brava Arts project aims not only to be a space for creation, but also an engine of change that positively impacts society. With a second edition of the Brava Arts Weekend on the horizon, the team hopes to attract more artists and audiences, fostering an enriching dialogue between art and the community. Its vision of sustainability, innovation and collaboration opens a new chapter in the cultural history of the Costa Brava.
