Local Festivals in Figueres
Figueres City Council ratified the 2024 work calendar, maintaining two prominent local holidays: Santa Creu on May 3 and Sant Pere on June 29. In addition, the central day of the fairs, May 3, will coincide with a Friday, creating a long weekend. On June 29, Sant Pere will fall on a Saturday.
Holidays in Catalonia
Catalonia’s labor calendar for 2024 includes 15 public holidays. To these are added two local holidays, paid and non-refundable, approved by the Department of Business and Work. The 13 holidays provided by the Labor Relations Council are:
– January 1: New Year’s Eve
– January 6: Magi
– March 29: Good Friday
– April 1: Easter Monday
– May 1: International Workers’ Day
– June 24: Saint John
– August 15: The Ascension
– September 11: National Day of Catalonia
– October 12: National Day of Spain
– November 1: All Saints
– December 6: Constitution Day
– December 25: Christmas
– December 26: Saint Stephen
In addition, Catalonia adds an extra day, to choose between January 6, April 1, June 24 and December 26, which will be recoverable. It is also worth noting that a holiday falls on a Sunday: La Immaculada on December 8.
