Canillo houses the International Chamber Music Competition

An unforgettable musical event

Next weekend, on April 5 and 6, Canillo will become the center of chamber music with the seventh edition of the International Romanesque Chamber Competition, organized by the Friends of the Romanesque Chamber Association. This competition promises to be a captivating show for all music lovers.

Phases of the contest and opening to the public

On Saturday, April 5, the tie phase will be held, while on Sunday 6 the Grand Final will take place. Both phases will be developed in the auditorium of the Palau de Gel d’Andorra, where the public will be able to enjoy live performances. In addition, the final phase will be broadcast live on the association’s YouTube channel, allowing anyone to follow the event from home.

Music diversity and competitive categories

This year’s competition will include a rich variety of groups, such as quartets, trios and duets with varied instruments. The participants will compete in three age categories: Piccolo (under 14 years old), base (14 to 18 years) and advanced (over 18 years). Each group will find in the contest a unique opportunity, either to get started in the world of chamber music or to consolidate their career.

Awards and Opportunities

The winners will receive economic awards, as well as concerts scheduled for the fall at the tenth edition of the Romanesque Chamber Cycle, an ideal platform for showing their talent.

Participation of the public and voting

Both face -to -face and online spectators will be able to participate in the voting of the ‘Audience Award’, which will be awarded to the finalist groups in each category. This interaction adds a dynamic element to the competition, fostering the empowerment of the public in the selection process.

A Jury of Honor

The jury, formed by the violinist Marie Cantagrill, the pianist Mercè Hervada and Albert Gumí, clarinetist and artistic director of the ONCA Foundation, has the difficult task of selecting the winners in each category, promising a high level of competition.

The Friends of the Romanesque Chamber Association: a commitment to music

Founded in 2018, the Friends of the Romance Chamber Association is dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of classical music. With the relief of the Romanesque Chamber Cycle in Canillo, the association has managed to consolidate an autumn program that attracts a loyal and passionate audience, and with this contest, it has placed Canillo on the chamber music map internationally.
