A sustainable and energy self-sufficient municipality
Cardona City Council has completed the installation of photovoltaic solar panels for self-consumption at the Marc de Cardona library. The photovoltaic solar panels have been installed in blocks located on the roof of the equipment, and the actions have had a total cost of 36,445 euros, including the installation of a screen in the Library’s lobby in the which can check the electrical generation of the photovoltaic points in real time.
A country capable of sustainability
This initiative is part of the Cardona City Council’s goal of becoming an increasingly sustainable and energy self-sufficient municipality. By means of this installation of photovoltaic solar panels, the City Council seeks to bet on renewable energy and reduce dependence on fossil materials and other non-renewable sources.
Upcoming performances
In addition to the installation in the library, Cardona City Council plans other actions related to photovoltaic energy. Soon, the installation of photovoltaic panels at the Patrocini school, which already has the project and funding through a subsidy from the Generalitat, will be tendered. The projects for the installation of photovoltaic panels in the Joan de Palà school and in the cafeteria of the Cultural Park of the Mountain of Salt are also in the development phase.
