Puigdemont criticizes Pedro Sánchez’s proposal for democratic regeneration
Junts’ candidate, Carles Puigdemont, has returned to the campaign with a forceful attitude, criticizing Pedro Sánchez’s proposal for democratic regeneration. During the meeting at the Espai Jean Carrère in Algiers, Puigdemont pointed out the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, and the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, referring to the recordings made in La Camargue, and denounced that his government persecutes Catalans at the borders only because of their surnames or that it subjects pro-independence supporters to tax inspections. In addition, he has demanded that Sánchez start at home if he wants regeneration.
Criticism of the management of the Spanish president
Puigdemont has focused his intervention on assessing the five days of reflection that the Spanish president has taken to decide on his future, attributing it to an electoral maneuver. Likewise, he has denounced that the PSOE is responsible for the repression against the independence supporters and has questioned the regenerating intention of someone who has as Minister of the Interior Marlaska, responsible for the police, and Minister Robles.
Mistrust towards socialists
The Junts candidate has expressed his mistrust of the socialists, warning that to deal with them you need to come ‘distrustful of home’ and ‘with four layers of latex gloves’. In addition, he has warned about the risk that the PSC candidate will make a move similar to a politician who allied himself with the opposition.
Criticism of the management of the Government in Catalonia
Former mayor Xavier Trias opened the rally by recalling the death of Puigdemont’s mother and denouncing the president’s lack of support. In addition, he criticized Sánchez’s five days of reflection, describing them as a comedy, and questioned the Government’s position in Catalonia, accusing them of creating hatred and antipathy.
