Carnival under meteorological uncertainty: What to expect?

A various weather panorama

The days approaching Spain are presented with remarkable climate variability. In different regions, the inhabitants face cold temperatures, while elsewhere the rains have become the norm and the snow has made their appearance. This diversity has generated concern among those who are preparing for the Carnival festivals.

Borrasca on the way: What does it indicate?

Before we focus on the weekend, it is important to highlight the weather events expected from Thursday. Meteorologist Roberto Brasero has reported about the imminent formation of a storm in the Atlantic, which will move south, following the Portuguese coast.

According to the latest analyzes, this storm will bring cold air, which will make it more powerful and unpredictable. The forecasts indicate that on Friday, the rains will make their entrance to the southwest of the peninsula, affecting areas such as Extremadura, Western Andalusia and South, as well as Castilla-La Mancha.

Carnival weekend: rain or party?

The Brasero meteorologist forecasts that the storm will move to the Mediterranean on Saturday. This will mean that regions such as Murcia, Almería and the Valencian Community could experience significant rains. In contrast, to the rest of Andalusia and Castilla-La Mancha, the rainfall will be less intense, with some chances of spray.

On Sunday, the storm will weaken, and the rains will decrease, but Brasero warns that the nature of these weather conditions makes it difficult to make exact predictions. So, there is still the possibility of isolated showers in some areas.

Tips for celebrants

With the arrival of carnivals, it is essential that participants be informed about weather updates. Although widespread bad weather is not foreseen, some areas are likely to experience rains that could alter outdoor celebration plans.

Therefore, it is advisable to review the forecasts regularly as the weekend approaches. Preparation and adaptability will be key to enjoying these holidays full of color and fun.
