A premonition by Francesc Mauri
Francesc Mauri, the reference meteorologist on TV3, has shared new predictions on time in Catalonia. This Wednesday, which marks the end of winter, a significant increase in rainfall is expected to affect several counties.
The rains mark the agenda
The weather maps have caught the attention of experts who are monitoring atmospheric conditions. Mauri has warned that the rains that have begun to fall are just the beginning of a complicated day. “The disturbance will intensify,” he said, recommending that the population be careful at the Meteocat instructions.
Alarming Water Records
From early in the morning, the amounts of accumulated water have varied between 10 and 20 mm, but in the northeast counties the figures will exceed 100 mm at the end of the day, which represents a considerable increase in the volume of water.
Attention to the rivers
Mauri emphasized the need to closely monitor the rivers, as heavy rains could lead to an increase in water levels. Authorities recommend avoiding activities near river courses, especially in the most affected areas of the northeast.
Alert areas
The Meteocat has issued orange alerts for the regions of Ripollès, La Garrotxa and Alt Empordà, which will experience the strongest rains. On the other hand, Berguedà, Osona, La Selva and Vallès Oriental are in yellow warning, with the forecast of significant rainfall.
A winter that does not give up
In addition to the rains in the northeast, two regions of the south of Tarragona, Montsià and Baix Ebre, also face warnings for strong storms. Meteorological instability will remain for some days, with the possibility of snow in the highest levels of the Pyrenees, confirming that winter wants to say goodbye.
A day to stay home
With this forecast, many Catalans will choose to enjoy the rain from the comfort of their homes, reflecting on the variability of the time that characterizes this station.
