An exciting start
On March 11, 1985, the Morell community witnessed the birth of a new media, a result of the dedication and enthusiasm of a group of young people, including Antoni Virgili, Jordi Rovira and Martí Macías. This initiative marked the beginning of a radio path that has lasted to this day, with the help of numerous collaborators who have joined the project over time.
Commemoration of an event
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary, the Morell City Council, through the Department of Communication, has organized a commemorative gala for this Friday, May 16 at 7 pm, at the Auditorium Theater. Eloi Calbet, Councilor for Communication and current mayor, emphasizes the importance of gathering to all those who have helped to make this local medium a reality, as well as those who have been part of its evolution over the years.
Dialogue about the future of radio
The gala will not only be a moment of memory, but it will also include a round table with recognized experts such as Griselda Pastor, Tere Ortega and Esteve Giralt. Jesús Sarmiento, coordinator of the broadcaster, expresses the desire to have an enriching conversation about the current state of local radio and its prospects for the future.
A journey full of nostalgia
The event promises to be a memorable day, with surprises, gifts and a free snack at the Cultural Center bar, open to the entire population. It will be the perfect occasion to recognize the efforts of all those who have been part of the history of Radio Morell.
Radio Morell’s career
The survival of a local radio is not a simple task. Since its founding, the capacity of associations and constant renewal have been key to keeping the station alive. Eloi Calbet, who took over the coordination in 2005, promoted the project with news programs and a diversity of programs created by young talents, contributing to their vitality.
A step toward semi -professionalization
Since 2019, Ràdio Morell has entered a semi -professional stage that includes daily newsletters and various programs, with a significant digital presence and a team of committed collaborators. Its integration into the Local Communication Network has expanded its opportunities and enriched the contents it offers to the community.
