A tribute to business creativity
This Monday, March 3, the city of Reus has celebrated a significant event: the first edition of the Gabriel Ferraté Pascual Business Business Innovation Awards. Organized by the Department of Economic Promotion, Innovation and Knowledge, these awards have been designed to highlight companies that stand out for their contribution to innovation in the Baix Camp.
Recognizing Awards in various categories
In the Product and Services Innovation category, the Union Group has been recognized with the first prize for its capacity to innovate throughout the agricultural value chain. Jelly Pills, with his nutritional gums, has taken second place, offering a healthy and vegan alternative without added sugars.
Business that make the difference
In the innovative business segment, Fruselva has been awarded the first prize for a creative service that addresses the nutritional needs of different segments of the population. Hydrinet has won the second prize thanks to its innovative Filter Efficpool, which drastically reduces the consumption of water and energy, promoting a more sustainable lifestyle.
An event full of inspiration
The delivery gala, held at Fira Reus, was a moment of unity and inspiration. The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Josep Baiges, opened the ceremony with welcome words, followed by innovative presentations of companies such as Naifactory, Collect and Fermator. In addition, the poetry recital of Fito Luri and La Glossa to Gabriel Ferraté by Jaume Vilella added a cultural touch to the celebration.
Special Awards for Young Talents
During the event, prizes were also awarded in special categories. Pol Monné, a student at IES Baix Camp, was recognized for his research on an eco-local, while the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) received a prize of honor, collected by his rector, Àngels Fitó.

The final speeches of Mayor Sandra Guaita and Gabriel Ferraté Casas marked the culmination of this first edition of the awards, which honor the memory of Gabriel Ferraté Pascual, a prominent figure in the academic and professional world. Ferraté, recognized as an illustrious son of Reus, was a pioneer in fields such as automatic and artificial intelligence, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire future generations.
