Celebration of the 40th edition of the Bible Contest: a new community approach

A resounding success with exceptional participation

The Biblical Contest of Catalonia has reached a significant milestone in its 40th edition, with an inscription that has exceeded 11,000 participants. This year, 165 educational centers and parishes have presented a total of 1,021 group works, highlighting the great acceptance and interest that raises among the youth.

Transformation and modernization of the contest

With the aim of promoting teamwork and dialogue, the CBC has evolved into an online format, marking a new stage in its history. This innovation allows participants to collaborate and exchange ideas in a digital environment, thus adapting to the present times.

A bond with tradition and current

The competition, which is part of the Federation of Christians of Catalonia, has maintained its three traditional modalities: children, adolescents and university. In addition, it has aligned with the celebration of the Jubilee Year ‘Pilgrims of Hope’, an event that has given a significant context to the reflections this year.

A message of dialogue and hope

Under the slogan ‘The dialogue will bear fruit’ and inspired by the passage of Mateu 8, 5-13, the participants have deepened the values of Christianity. The works were presented during the feast of Our Lady of Montserrat, with the verdict issued on Sunday of the Good Shepherd, a time expected by all those involved.

Prizes with a new format

One of the most significant innovations of this edition has been the form of delivery of the prizes. Instead of a mass ceremony, the winning groups will have the opportunity to share more intimate moments with bishops and rectors, thus facilitating a more enriching and personal exchange.

Recognize talent at territorial level

The awards have been distributed between six dioceses in Catalonia, reaffirming the CBC’s commitment to local communities and their inclusivity. This connection with the territory is essential for the development of the competition and for its relevance within each community.

Winners of the university biblical contest

As part of the University Pastoral Meeting, held on May 15 in the churches of Sant Pere de Terrassa, the winners of the XXII University Bible Contest have been announced: Gabriela Michel Alba Valverde (1st prize, Terrassa diocese), Eric Casanova and Adrià Castelló (2nd prize, diocese of Tortosa) and Iván López Casado (3rd prize).
