DANA movements and their consequences
Meteorologist Roberto Brasero has reported that the DANA that has affected several regions of the country is heading towards the Atlantic, which will allow some areas, such as Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and Valencia, to experience relief in adverse weather conditions.
Weather situation in Andalusia
In contrast to the areas mentioned above, Andalusia continues to be under the influence of intensely heavy rains. According to Antena 3’s expert, the storms that have moved towards Malaga could spread to other regions of the west, including Seville, Cadiz and Huelva, which have received orange warnings for this Thursday.
Improvements expected in Valencia
Valencia has been in the eye of the hurricane for the past few days, but expectations are positive. Brasero has stated that the situation will begin to improve during the afternoon, with DANA moving to the southwest and allowing a decrease in storms in this area.
AEMET alerts and short-term forecast
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has updated its alerts, lowering the level in Valencia from red to orange, after a night of heavy rain in areas such as Cullera and Sueca. Although the conditions have improved, warnings for possible storms remain on the Valencian coast and north of Alicante, especially in Dénia.
Forecasts for Andalusia and other regions
Andalusia will remain under watch with rain alerts in Huelva, Cadiz and Seville. In addition, precipitation is also expected south of Badajoz and north of Cáceres, with accumulations that could reach 15 liters per hour.
Sea conditions and future forecasts
In addition to the rain alerts, swell warnings have also been issued for the coasts of Granada and Almeria, as well as the northern coast of Galicia. The forecast for Friday indicates a substantial improvement in the weather, with only a few yellow level warnings for several areas.
AEMET maintains an alert for rain in Huelva, Ávila and Cáceres, as well as for waves in Granada and Almeria, but signs of a more stable climate seem to be on the horizon.
