Citizens for Palestine rejects the ban on the talk in Palma

The Palma City Council prohibits the Citizens for Palestine talk

Ciutadans per Palestina has received an official request from Palma City Council that prohibits the talk they had organized for this Thursday, June 6, at 7 p.m. The event, entitled ‘Palestine beyond the myths of Israel’, has been vetoed for reasons that the organization considers unsustainable and worrying.

The ban instigated by VOX and supported by the rector of the UIB

According to Citizens for Palestine, the ban on the talk was instigated by the extreme right party VOX and supported by the rector of the UIB, Jaume Carot. In addition, the organization criticizes that the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, and the Councilor for Culture, Javier Bonet, of the PP, have accepted this ban with untenable arguments.

Institutional censorship will not silence Citizens for Palestine

Despite the ban, Citizens for Palestine has stated that it will not be silenced and that it will hold the talk anyway. The event will take place at 19:00 at the Ateneu Popular La Fonera, located at Carrer Manacor, 36, in Palma.
