Promoting environmental volunteering on the beach
The initiative to promote citizen involvement in the conservation of the environment is restarted in 2025 with an exciting waste collection on the beach of the Regueral. Organized by Plastic Free Wave, and with the support of the City Council of Cambrils, the Diputación de Tarragona and Heüra, this activity seeks to mobilize the community in the fight against marine pollution.
Details of the event
On Saturday, April 12, from 11am to 1pm, the beach will become a scenario of friendly competition, where participants can enjoy prizes and a snack. This activity aims not only to clean the beach, but also to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining these clean spaces, especially during the summer months, when the influx of visitors increases.
Awareness of plastic pollution
The program entitled ‘No I can, I have volunteering’, as the main mission of educating the population about the problem of plastics and the need to preserve the beaches. Initiatives Futures for the Community
Antonio Martínez, Councilor for Citizen Participation, has expressed a commitment to continue this environmental campaign, with the intention of incorporating new actions that promote civility and support projects such as Terra and Peace, which work for local sustainability. In addition, he has revealed plans to expand the awareness program through social and educational volunteering, in collaboration with specialized entities.
Collection of material for the Solidarity Merchant
At the same time, various services such as Saltirons, Sadi, Pici and Placi, in collaboration with the Department of Education, are organizing a collection of objects in the premises of entities in the Eixample Platja. This action is part of the second edition of the Solidarity Mercadet, scheduled for May 15, where you can give clothes, toys, books and other aging utensils in good condition.
Dates and collection details
Citizens will be able to provide articles on the following dates: Wednesday 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 April from 10am to 11:30, as well as on May 7 at two times: from 10am to 11:30 and from 14:30 to 16h. This solidarity network aims to facilitate mutual support between families, fostering a stronger community environment.
