Condition a possible coalition government to the need for a ‘common front’ in Madrid

Carles Puigdemont demands to modify the financing law of the autonomous communities

The candidate of Junts+ in the Catalan elections, Carles Puigdemont, has asked for changes in the organic financing law of the autonomous communities (LOFCA) as a condition for Junts to support the general State budgets (PGE) promoted by the PSOE or the pp. According to Puigdemont, it is necessary that 100% of the taxes be transferred to Catalonia so that they can approve the PGE (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/).

The need to end the fiscal deficit

Puigdemont emphasizes the importance of solving the fiscal deficit and warns that if this situation is not solved, they will not support the PGEs. According to him, they are ready to vote against the Spanish budgets, whether from the PSOE or the PP, because they want to condition.

A ‘common front’ in Madrid to claim the management of Catalan taxes

Puigdemont makes the formation of a possible coalition government conditional on the agreement of all the parties to jointly claim the management of the taxes paid in Catalonia. The aim is to prevent the Catalans from continuing to finance the tax reductions of the Community of Madrid. According to Puigdemont, a ‘common front’ is necessary in Madrid to defend the interests of Catalans (https://www.softcatala.org/resum-de-textos-en-catala/).

Transparency in infrastructure management

Puigdemont also demands greater transparency in the management of Catalonia’s infrastructure. He wants the Generalitat to have full control of its infrastructures to make them more competitive. Criticizes the opacity of the profits generated by the airports and ports currently managed by the State. He believes that Aena is hiding this information and wants to put an end to it.

An economic vision focused on small and medium-sized companies

Puigdemont emphasizes the importance of having an economic vision focused on small and medium-sized companies. He criticizes the central government for not taking into account the economic reality of Catalonia and assures that Junts+ represents the SMEs, which are the reflection of the country. It wants to give a new impetus to the Catalan economy through two macro areas in the Government: one dedicated to the economy, treasury, taxation and infrastructures, and another focused on business, research, work and universities.

Economic proposals for the first 100 days of government

Puigdemont announces that in the first 100 days of government he will present a review of taxes and propose reductions and deletions. Despite not specifying what the concrete measures will be, he wants to give a boost to the Catalan economy.
