An Unforgettable Cultural Event
Last September 18, Ordino became the epicenter of Andorran culture with the day ‘Andorra at a glance’, organized by the Barcelona Friends of Unesco Association. This initiative brought together a hundred culture enthusiasts in an event that culminated in the performance of the farce ‘L’ultima ossa d’Ordino’.
The Farce: A Reflection of Local Identity
The farce, performed by a group of 24 artists of various ages, combined humor and local elements to provide a unique experience. The dialogues were adapted to include references to everyday life in Barcelona, bringing a contemporary touch to the tradition. The mask that represented the character of the bear was a faithful replica of the ‘Alas y Viento’ collection, created by Nacho Rovira and exhibited at the headquarters of the Catalan entity, symbolizing the twinning between cultures.
Talks that Enrich Cultural Understanding
Prior to the performance, attendees enjoyed two keynotes that added depth to the event. Joan Reguant, coordinator of the candidacy for the inclusion of Andorra in the UNESCO World Heritage List, explained the reasons behind this initiative and the efforts made to achieve it.
Traditional Festivals and Intangible Heritage
Albert Roig, journalist and president of the Association of Popular Culture of Ordino, delved into the Festes de l’Ossa d’Andorra, highlighting its cultural value and its inclusion in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity . His presentation shed light on the connection between the festivals of Ordino and those of Alt Vallespir.
A Taste of Andorran Culture
In addition to the conferences and the farce, the ‘Andorra at a glance’ exhibition offered attendees the opportunity to discover the country’s cultural wealth. The tasting of local products was a resounding success, allowing participants to enjoy the authentic flavors of Andorra.
A Promising Future for Andorran Culture
With the presence of prominent figures such as the director of Cultural Promotion, Joan Marc Joval, the event was an example of the collective commitment to preserve and promote Andorra’s rich cultural heritage. The day concluded with the hope of future collaborations that will continue to strengthen the links between Andorran and Catalan culture.
