Deep Friendship According to Pope Francis

A Different Vision

This Sunday, before the singing of the “Regina Caeli”, the Pope reflected on the Gospel where Jesus addresses his disciples as “friends”.

Pope Francis has highlighted that “Jesus reveals to us that we are friends: people loved beyond any merit or expectation, to whom He extends His hand and offers His love, His grace, His Word; with whom he shares what is most precious to him, everything he has received from the Father”.

The Pope highlighted the idea that Jesus becomes fragile for us, placing himself in our hands without defense or pretensions, because he loves us, desires our good and wants us to share with him.

Peace and Dialogue

After the singing of the “Regina Caeli”, the Pope has expressed his desire for peace to strengthen dialogue and obtain positive results in the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

He also asked for prayers for Ukraine, which he referred to as a “tormented” society.

In addition, he has had a thought for the population of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil, affected by severe floods that have caused destruction and human loss.
