Worrying delay in water supply
The general secretary of the Extremadura PSOE, Miguel Ángel Gallardo, considers that it is urgent for the Extremadura Government to put out to tender the project for the water supply necessary for the Navalmoral de la Mata battery gigafactory, owned by the company Envision. Gallardo describes this delay as “worrying.”
The Envision project already has the necessary aid and has been approved in relation to central government funds. However, the water supply situation has not yet been resolved. The Government of Extremadura is committed to bringing water from the Valdecañas reservoir to the company to guarantee the viability of production.
It is alarming that the Extremaduran Administration has not yet started the bidding process, even though the company is ready to begin construction of the factory. This delay in water supply endangers the viability of the project and creates uncertainty about its future.
Project in Cáceres
During a press conference, Miguel Ángel Gallardo was also asked about the CC Green project in Cáceres, which has been excluded from the planned improvements in the electrical network until 2026. The general secretary of the Extremaduran PSOE highlighted the importance of the central government’s commitment and of Red Eléctrica Española for this development to be carried out.
Gallardo pointed out that it is necessary to guarantee the viability of the project, which implies the urbanization of the land. Although currently the project cannot meet the established deadlines, it is expected that starting in 2026 more resources will be allocated and the company will be able to execute the project under favorable conditions.
The general secretary of the Extremaduran PSOE expressed his support for the business community and reaffirmed the commitment to work for the well-being of citizens and companies in the region.
