An unforgettable sports weekend
On April 5 and 6, Deltebre will become the nucleus of athletic activity with the celebration of its prestigious triathlon. This competition, which has gained recognition over the years, will attract more than 1,180 athletes from all over, all ready to challenge their limits.
Modalities for all levels
Participants will be able to choose from various modalities, including Sprint, Olympic, Half, Short and Aquabike. The circuits, meticulously designed, will take advantage of the unique beauty of the Ebro Delta, allowing athletes to experience physical requirement in a spectacular natural environment.
Economic benefits for community
In addition to being a sporting event, the Deltebre triathlon is an economic injection for the area. A recent study indicates that the event will attract more than 3,000 visitors, including relatives and technical teams, most of which will spend at least two nights in the municipality.
From average expenditure and impact
Each triathlete will invest approximately 60 euros in local services, such as accommodation and catering, thus contributing to an economic impact that will exceed 200,000 euros. The mayor, Lluís Soler, emphasizes that this event not only positions Deltebre as a sports reference, but also helps to diversify the tourist season, especially with the arrival of Easter.
Recognizable at national level
Kilian Bertomeu, one of the organizers, emphasizes that the growing popularity of the triathlon is the result of years of dedication and effort. Each edition attracts an increasing number of participants, with 6% of competitors from Terres de l’Ebre, demonstrating the attractiveness of the Deltebre landscape for this sport.
Community collaboration
To ensure the success of the competition, a team of 190 volunteers has been mobilized, who are committed to ensuring that every detail is taken care of. The mayor has expressed his appreciation for the involvement of the neighbors, emphasizing that this collaboration is a reflection of the community’s support for sport.
A promising season start
The Deltebre triathlon marks the beginning of a series of competitions that will take place during the year, including other triathlons in Cambrils, the Pont de Suert and Tossa de Mar. With all the preparations underway, Deltebre is ready to live a weekend full of sports activity, consolidating itself as a key destination for high-level competitions, not only because of its landscape but also because of its excellent facilities.
