On March 25, agents of the Mossos d’Esquadra carried out an operation that led to the disarticulation of a group dedicated to the hashish and marijuana traffic, with international operations and based in Central Catalonia.
Arrests and records
Through seven searches made in various locations, such as Vilanova del Camí and Capellades, six individuals were detained between the ages of 20 and 51. In these actions, agents confiscated more than 1,200 cannabis plants, as well as 2.5 kilos of buds and a large number of cuttings.

Only two days after the investigation began, the Mossos detained a truck on the AP-7 that transported pallets with narcotic substances. In the search, 92 kilos of hashish and 52 kilos of marijuana were found, with a total value of more than 280,000 euros.
Criminal group structure
The investigation revealed that the group operated highly organized, with a leader who had a rigorous control and several members in charge of different aspects of illegal activity, including planting management and the coordination of shipments.
Key roles within the organization
Among the members was a head of marijuana plantations, another in charge of providing hashish and a fourth individual dedicated to the logistics of the shipments, with connections to Italy to ensure the deliveries.
The final operation
The highlight of the operation was attended by more than 100 agents, including specialized units and canine teams. In total, seven entrances were culminated in the arrests and confiscation of weapons, ammunition, cash and luxury watches.
Legal and future implications
The detainees, who had a wide criminal record, were presented to justice on March 26, with positions that include membership in criminal group, illicit possession of weapons and crimes against public health.
