Discover Tarragona: Easter with unique activities

A different Easter in Tarragona

The Municipal Tourism Board of Tarragona has designed a series of free activities for those who want to explore the city during Easter. This initiative will take place from April 12 to 18, with the aim of making both visitors and residents enjoy an enriching cultural experience.

Guided tours of history and tradition

The guided routes, which will be carried out in four languages, promise to bring participants through various emblematic points of Easter Tarragona. According to Montse Adan, President of the Board of Trustees, ‘these visits are really shocking to those who experience them’.

New spaces to discover

This edition presents a significant extension in the visitable places, going from two to five. Participants will be able to explore the Biblical Museum, the church of Sant Llorenç, Saint Augustine, the Nazarenes and the Church of the Blood.

Innovation in the world of wine

One of the most exciting novelties of this year is a workshop dedicated to wine culture, with a special approach to sweet and mass wines. This activity will be taught for the first time and will be developed during the mornings of April 12, 14 and 16, as well as the afternoon of 15, in the church of Sant Agustí.

Multilingual sessions i tast of Vens

The workshops will be organized in different languages: Catalan, French, Spanish and English. Participants will have the opportunity to taste a selection of wines, accompanied by explanations about their elaboration and meaning in the liturgical context.

Reflections on cultural value

Adan said that ‘Easter in Tarragona is an invaluated cultural heritage’. This initiative seeks that visitors can appreciate the rich history and community values that surround this festival.

A pioneer workshop

Leo Quidel, a wine expert, will be responsible for driving the workshop, which promises to be a unique and innovative experience. “We are convinced that it will be excellent,” added Adan.

Registration and access to activities

All activities are free, but prior registration is required through the Tarragona Tourism website. This is an unbeatable opportunity to live Easter in a totally different way.
