Dismantled a family network dedicated to drug trafficking in Tábara

A shooting that reveals a criminal plot

On February 23, a shooting in the town of Tábara led the police to discover a disturbing connection between the suspects: all of them belonged to the same family. This incident, which took place in the middle of the street after a heated discussion, aroused the attention of the authorities, who quickly initiated an investigation into the background of the event.

Arrests and findings in multiple raids

The police operation was carried out on Wednesday, with the collaboration of the Mossos d’Esquadra, who made three simultaneous records in Tàrrega. In these operations, the agents seized an arsenal of 13 firearms, among which were a 9 mm revolver and another 22 mm, as well as a variety of white weapons such as knives and machetes.

The profile of the detainees

The four detainees, aged between 19 and 43, were already under the radar of the authorities for their involvement in illicit activities related to public health. The forces of the order had been investigating their criminal activities in the context of drug trafficking.

Unmasking the drug trafficking network

The shooting, which did not leave wounded, was the catalyst that allowed Dec Poniente to open a formal investigation. The first inquiries led to the identification of the suspects, who were already subject to monitoring by the Cervera Research Unit. This resulted in the creation of a joint team to address the situation from a more comprehensive approach.

Operations and research results

Records revealed not only an impressive arsenal, but also a significant amount of narcotic substances, including cocaine, heroin and marijuana, prepared for retail sale. In one of the raids, a vehicle was found with a bullet hole, which was directly related to the shooting, which added more weight to the evidence against those arrested.

The judicial future of those involved

The detainees, who have a criminal record, will face justice in the Court of Instruction of Cervera. They are charged with a series of crimes that include illegal possession of weapons and attempted homicide, making it clear that the authorities are determined to eradicate this type of criminal activities in the community.

Reflections on security and crime in the region

This case highlights the complexity of organized crime in areas that are often not seen as focuses of criminal activity. Collaboration between different police units and the use of advanced technology are essential to address and dismantle criminal networks operating in the shadow.
