A new era for Tarlà
Girona’s characteristic Tarlà will regain its revolving charm on Carrer Argenteria with an innovative initiative promoted by the city council and the University of Girona.
In this new stage, the traditional turning device of the Tarlà will be operated at street level by means of a steering wheel, replacing the old methods. This change has been possible thanks to a complex mechanical system developed over several months by the university’s engineering department.
The project, led by student Miquel Teixidor and supervised by professor Jordi Torrent, has focused on creating a mechanism that offers a renewed and more exciting spinning experience.
