Elections in Catalonia: An Opportunity for the Future

The Electoral Campaign

We are about to end the electoral campaign in Catalonia. All the parties have expressed their opinions and it seems that the Partit Socialista Català (PSC) can get more seats. However, the second strongest candidate is President Puigdemont, who has managed to win the support of the majority of undecideds. During the last six and a half years, Puigdemont has been present in the media of Madrid and Spain, being the subject of malicious and treacherous accusations. He has been accused of being a coward and of fleeing Spain hidden in the trunk of a car. Now, with the results in sight, the unrest in Madrid will be at its peak. The patriotic police, the Madrid press and the state’s power circles are trying to impose their law, their language and their lifestyle, trying to silence the just demand for independence from Catalonia, which is supported by the majority of citizens. This situation has generated widespread unrest that has put them in a difficult situation.

The Revolted Mobilization

President Puigdemont has recently used the phrase ‘the revolted mobilization’. He has urged the population to revolt and express their vote of rejection and indignation. He has stated that we will have no future if we are robbed of hope. After the general elections, Puigdemont made it clear that he would never vote for Pedro Sánchez, using the 7 Junts deputies in Congress as a bargaining chip. He made it clear that he would not be president if he did not accept their demands. The Catalan Socialist Party knows that it is playing with fire, since Puigdemont warned them that the proposed amnesty was not satisfactory. From now on, Junts has a single goal: to achieve independence.

The Difference between Junts and the PSC

The difference between Junts and the PSC is clear. Junts wants the vote for Catalonia, while the PSC is at the service of Madrid’s interests. The PSC promises, but does not fulfill, and divides the Catalans. Their goal is to liquidate us, they try to coerce us and scare us. They spy on us and even prosecute us as terrorists. They rob us of taxes and treat us like second-class citizens. The two alternatives are clear: some want to make Madrid bigger, where they don’t pay taxes and where the budget is invested, harming all Spaniards. On the other hand, Junts has Catalonia as its sole objective. Currently, we are one of the richest regions in Europe, but we Catalans are impoverished because our money goes to the coffers of the state and only a small part returns, often without being properly invested. This deprives us of good hospitals, well-paid doctors, well-funded universities, adequate schools and well-resourced social services.

The Key Decision

The decision is clear: continue to depend on Madrid, either the PSC or the PP, being spied on, robbed and treated as terrorists, or be a free country without having to depend on people who over the last three hundred years have shown that they don’t love us To defend Catalonia and have a good government, we must vote for President Puigdemont.

Conclusion

The elections in Catalonia are an opportunity for the future of the country. It is time to make a fundamental decision for our autonomy and for the defense of our interests. We have to choose between continuing to be subject to Madrid or being a free and independent country. President Puigdemont represents this option and is the candidate who will best defend the interests of Catalonia. The future of our land is in our hands. Let’s vote for the future of Catalonia.
