ERC lawyers submit briefs to file court cases

ERC’s lawyers have today presented the briefs to file the 37 court cases that affect party leaders. This action was carried out after the amnesty law was published in the Official State Gazette (BOE). ERC’s legal team has requested the application of the law to achieve the filing of the cases that are in different courts and tribunals. This action has also been reflected in other organizations such as Òmnium Cultural, which has submitted a letter to close the case for terrorism of its Board member.

ERC leaders who hope to be amnestied

Among the ERC leaders who hope to be granted amnesty are names such as Marta Rovira, exiled in Switzerland and currently serving as president of the party (https://correccioencatala.cat/com-estructura-text-catala/). There are also other leaders such as Ruben Wagensberg, Josep Maria Jové, Lluís Salvadó, Natàlia Garriga, Marta Molina, Oriol Junqueras, Raül Romeva, Dolors Bassa and Aleix Villatoro. These leaders have been affected by the various legal cases and hope that the amnesty will allow them to close this stage.

Other organizations and parties also submit briefs

Other organizations such as Alerta Solidària and Junts per Catalunya have also submitted letters to obtain amnesty for their members. This action is considered a necessary move to make the precautionary measures lapse and speed up the amnesty process. In this sense, Jordi Turull, general secretary of Junts per Catalunya, has presented the written request for amnesty through his lawyer Jordi Pina.

Òmnium makes the request models available

Òmnium also makes available to those who have been reprisaled the written models to request amnesty through the Syndicate for Amnesty. This instrument will allow Omnium’s legal team to monitor law enforcement trends and ensure that more than 1,600 people can benefit from the amnesty.
