An Immersion in Natural Art
Until the end of January 2025, Tossa de Montbui is hosting a fascinating exhibition of prints called “The Faint Forest”, by the artist Josep Pérez González. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in his vision of nature, which unfolds through everyday and captivating moments, both day and night.
A Sensory Journey through the Forest
Pérez invites us to join him on a contemplative walk through the forest, where each step reveals the subtle changes in the natural environment. His meticulous attention to detail – from the light filtering through the branches to the sounds of the water – creates an experience that goes beyond simple observation. In his words, these elements ‘interact to create a wonderful harmonization of life on our planet’.
A Transformative Vision
Pérez’s work is not just a visual representation; it is a profound reinterpretation of the landscape that surrounds us. Through diverse techniques such as lithographic engraving and embossing, the artist translates his experience into images that challenge the usual perception of nature. His drawings and photographic captures, with their palette of colors and textures, become a window to a new reality.
An Artist of Recognized Prestige
Pérez’s resume is impressive: A Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialization in painting from the University of Barcelona, he has expanded his training in various artistic techniques, including cyanotype and intaglio. His experience as a drawing teacher and his participation in more than a hundred exhibitions, both individual and collective, demonstrate his dedication and passion for art.
Innovation and Experimentation in the Studio
Currently, Pérez works at Espai Tarlatana, located in Sant Joan de Mediona, where he continues to explore the world of engraving. He is experimenting with less toxic techniques, such as lithographic-offset, and has embarked on creating videos documenting his art installations. His ability to innovate and adapt to new methodologies reaffirms his commitment to art and nature.
A Reflection on the Human Connection with Nature
The exhibition ‘The Faint Forest’ is not just an art exhibition, but an invitation to reflect on our relationship with the natural world. As we explore Pérez’s works, we realize the importance of sensitivity and connection to our surroundings, a message that resonates strongly at a time when nature needs our attention and respect.
