A creative trip to the chapel of San Juan
This Friday, the chapel of Sant Joan de Vilafranca del Penedès will become a space for reflection and beauty with the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Consellings with silent music’. From 8 pm, local artist Felix Plantalech will present a collection of 15 works created with mixed technique and ceramics, which will be available to the public until April 20, 2025.
A dialogue between notes and colors
In this exhibition, Plantalech explores the interaction between musical notes as if each of them conveyed an emotion to the next, creating a relationship that reminds a deep love. His works seek to capture this intimate connection, offering the visitor a unique sensory experience.
Artistic trajectory of Felix Plantalech
Born in Vilafranca del Penedès in 1950, Plantalech perfected his technique at the Eina School of Barcelona and enriched his training by attending workshops with renowned Catalan artists. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, and even in Switzerland. With collaborations with galleries such as Palcadotze and Verena Hoffer, he has participated in prestigious art fairs such as Arco and Artissima.
An artist connected to the territory
Plantalech is not only dedicated to exhibiting his work, but has also performed artistic interventions in public spaces, contributing a contemporary air to local traditions. Its installation ‘Flower rugs’, created in 2019, is an example of how cultural heritage reinvents.
Inauguration and associated activities
The opening ceremony will be attended by the Councilor for Culture, Àngels Dalmau, as well as representatives of the Vilapensa Festival and the artist itself. Visitors will enjoy a series of parallel activities, including musical performances that will pay tribute to Frederic Mompou. This Friday, Miquel Villalba on the piano and Cristina Koch as soprano will offer a selection of their compositions.
Music programs
The activities will continue with the interpretation of ‘Callada Music’ by Mompou, which will take place on March 21, followed by a small concert on March 28 called ‘Mompou Review’, where Oriol Mula, Leo Tejedor and Ricard Parera will explore new dimensions of their music.
A final reflection
Through ‘Consellings with silent music’, Felix Plantalech not only presents his creations, but also invites the public to participate in a visual and sound dialogue that transfers mere observation. His works are a reminder that art is a vehicle of emotions, and that in each note and every brush stroke, there is a story that hopes to be discovered.
