The world of classic motorcycle trials is mourning the loss of Fernando Cabré Díez, one of its most prominent figures. The pilot from Vilanova d’Escornalbou died on Tuesday at the age of 67, as reported by todotrial.com, a portal specialized in this sport. Cabré was one of the protagonists of the classics competitions in recent years, both at state, Catalan and European level. He was part of the Moto Club Constantí, where his son Marc also shone as a pilot, and he had a close relationship with the Tarragona Trial Team. He rode motorcycles of different brands, such as Montesa, Fantic, Bultaco, Yamaha and Beta.

An impressive record

Cabré accumulated a large number of titles and triumphs throughout his career. The driver from Baix Camp achieved two championships in Spain (2019 and 2023), three championships in Catalonia in various categories and the title of European champion of FIM classics in 2014. In addition, since 2014 he also added four runner-up championships of Spain and two sub-championships of Catalonia. He stood out in the most emblematic events of the Catalan calendar, such as the Dos Dies de Santigosa or the Dos Dies de la Costa Brava. His last victory was two weeks ago at the Tarragona Classic Trial.
