Religious celebrations in Balsareny

April 25 was a special day in Balsareny, as he paid tribute to Sant Marc, the local patron saint. The day began with the blessing and distribution of the traditional blessed panellet at ten in the morning. Later, at eleven o’clock, the community met to celebrate the Eucharist, led by the parish priest, Mn. Antoni Bonet, accompanied by several chaplains of the bishopric of Solsona. The homily was presented by Fr David Guindulain, superior of the Jesuit community of the Cave of Manresa, with the presence of the mayor and some members of the consistory, as well as the pubilla. The celebration culminated in the veneration of the relic of the saint and the joys performed by the Coral Sant Esteve.

Feast of Our Lady of Montserrat

On Sunday, April 27, the community celebrated the Virgin of Montserrat, coinciding with the millennium of the monastery. The Mass of 12 was the active participation of residents of the Casal Verge de Montserrat, as well as of sardanists who danced the sardana ‘is the Moreneta’ during the offer. In addition, members of the community of Sant Egidi de Manresa enriched the celebration with their songs and took part in the readings and prayers. The day ended with the worship of the image of the Moreneta and the distribution of a commemorative book point.

On May 15, as part of the festival of Sant Isidre, the parish home hosted a talk on ‘The future of the family’, organized by the parish evangelizing group. A marriage from Berga shared their experiences, and attendees participated in group dynamics to reflect on the topics addressed.

Activities scheduled for June

In June it promises to be full of activities in Balsareny. On Sunday 1st, the solemnity of the Lord’s Ascension will be celebrated with a Eucharist at 12 p.m. Dedicated to the first communions, accompanied by the Coral Sant Esteve. On Tuesday 24, in honor of San Juan, a mass will take place at 6 pm in the church of Colony Soldevila. Finally, on Thursday 26, there will be a retirement pilgrimage to Solsona, organized by the pastoral units of Navàs and Puig-reig.
