Fluidra expands horizons with the purchase of NCWG in Portugal

A new stage for Fluidra

Fluidra, the Catalan multinational recognized for its leadership in the swimming pool sector, has announced a strategic acquisition that could transform its operational landscape in Portugal. The company has reached an agreement to acquire the NCWG Group, one of the leading distributors of swimming pool products in this market.

Waiting for the green light

Despite the optimism surrounding this operation, Fluidra still has to wait for the approval of the competition authorities to complete the transaction, as recently communicated. The company expects the process to close during the fourth quarter of the year, which will allow it to expand its offer and strengthen its presence in the region.

Details about NCWG

NCWG, with a net sales volume of seven million euros in 2023, employs around 40 workers. This company had already maintained a collaboration with Fluidra since 2016, but it was not until this year that interest in a formal purchase materialized. The manager of NCWG, João Couchinho, has expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, emphasizing that both companies share the vision of leadership in their sector.

A promising future

The acquisition not only opens up new opportunities for Fluidra, but could also facilitate the integration of international clients such as Wise, PoolHoy and PoolWay, currently associated with NCWG. Despite the lack of details on future operations or the value of the transaction, Fluidra has assured that this addition will significantly improve its position in the Portuguese market.

A year of growth for Fluidra

In the context of a year of growth, Fluidra has reported a profit of 112 million euros until June, an increase of 7.5% compared to the same period of the previous year. Despite a slight decrease in sales of 1.2%, the company highlighted that its results are in line with expectations for 2024, driven mainly by growth in North America.

Expectations for the future

With sales forecasts for 2023 between 2,025 and 2,125 million euros, Fluidra is positioned to continue its successful trajectory, taking advantage of this new acquisition to further consolidate itself in the European market.
